Alufenster Akzo Nobel Logo
In order to do justice to the comprehensive nature of high-quality products surrounding aluminum/aluminium windows and facades, we lay as much worth on the color coatings as we do on the quality of glass, on the choice of profile (technical design specifications and cross-section configurations, tested for their insulating quality and stability) and on the construction of our aluminum/aluminium windows. That’s why we use exclusively powder coatings provided by leading maker Akzo Nobel for the manufacture of our aluminium/aluminium windows. Akzo Nobel has set the standard for years regarding new accents in color schemes and regarding both the configuration and the resiliency of high-quality surfaces in architectural components.

Available Standard Coatings:

Akzo Nobel RAL Series RAL Standard (D1000)Alu WIndow Color Diversity Color Tone: The color tones of the RAL Standard Series have a light sheen. This surface is known as a ‘classic powder coating’ and is the most widely used type of powder coating in construction. These coatings have a Light Reflection Index of 85.90%. Powder coatings of the RAL Standard Series belong to Price Category 1 (Basic) of the coatings for aluminum/aluminium windows.

RAL Matt (D1000) Alu WIndow Color Diversity Color Tone: A selected number of most common RAL tones are also available in matt finish. The effect is similar to the comparison of high-gloss and matt-finish photographs. The surface is smooth, as with the satin-finish coatings, with, however, less of a sheen or glance. This coating displays a light-reflection value of 70-75%. Powder coatings of the RAL Matt Series belong to Price Category 2 (Basic II) of the coatings for aluminum/aluminium windows.

RAL Fidji Structured (D1000) Alu WIndow Color Diversity Color Tone: These color tones are endowed with a slightly grainy structure, which is palpable when you draw your hand across the surface. This coating structure is advantageous in that it masks fingerprints and water-drop stains. This coating displays light-reflection value of approximately 30%. Powder coatings of the RAL Fidji Series belong to the Price Category 2 (Basic II) of the coatings for aluminum/aluminium windows.

Brilliance Series (D1000) Alu WIndow Color Diversity Color Tone: Powder coatings of the Brilliance Series reside in the range of metallic finishes and visibly show this metallic effect. The surface of the coating is smooth with a satin finish. The micaceous iron oxide contained within these coatings gives these color tones their extraordinary brilliance.

These powder coatings are very robust, designed for all weather conditions—harsh sunlight, contact with salt water or extreme surface wear. The color palette extends from reserved gray-black tones to dazzlingly bright colors. These colors have a satin finish. The surfaces vary from a slick smooth surface to a slightly grainy texture.

The classification of the coatings extends from the normal RAL field of colors with a D1000 quality rating for architectural objects to a D3000 quality rating for the highest level of durability and resilience. Here, the following levels are noteworthy:
  • D1000 = proven resilience for architectural use (1-year Florida Specification)—Qualicoat Class 1, GSB
  • D2000 = intense resilience for architectural use (3-5-year Florida Specification)—Qualicoat Class 2, GSB Master
  • D3000 = the highest level of resilience for architectural use (10-year Florida Specification)—Qualicoat Class 3, GSB Premium
All powder coatings meet the requirements of the EN 12206. Akzo Nobel Interpon adds a color-tone authenticity guarantee of 10-20 years, according to the classification for its powder coatings.
Do You Already Know It? As the only manufacturer worldwide, Akzo Nobel was able to conduct an Authenticity Test of D2000 lacquers. As early as 1991, the “Mission Hospital” in Viejo, California, was built using coated aluminum/aluminium windows and facade elements of the highest resilience Series D2000—the first object worldwide so equipped. Now, more than 20 years later, the coatings of these aluminum/aluminium windows have proven their value. The results of this ‘real-world’ test confirm not only the given minimum values, but show that the coatings far exceed these values.
